Friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about what they do. We tried nearly the entire menu—mackerel, trout, herring, sea bass—and every single dish was an absolute standout. Fresh, perfectly cooked, and bursting with flavor. Even the bread deserves a shoutout: warm, crusty, and ridiculously good. Oh, and the craft cider selection? Spot on. Unique, refreshing, and perfectly paired with the seafood. A five-star experience from start to finish. Can’t wait to come back!
This is an experience rather than a place to get full. Everything is served tapas style where you taste and enjoy the flavours. Everything we had was delicious: raw bream, mussels, bass, trout spread and potato salad. Service was excellent and I loved the place. We are very happy with our choice to eat here.

Excellent service as always on the hottest day of the year, the team were all great and work well under such pressure where, every 2 minutes people beg for a table! Stunning food as always, great wine selection and the BEST Bloody Mary's! We were lucky to get an outside table even thought we changed our original booking. Thank you!
Beautiful seafood in an approachable setting. Everything was exemplary but the crab on toast was life-changing; delicate and substantial. We sat facing the open kitchen and enjoyed fabulous wine and service. The chefs were happy to alter a meal for an allergy. Just so good.
Dory’s was just the best experience for us! The food was so fresh and there were so many beautiful flavours in each dish, everything was delicious. It is kind of a tapas style, the dishes are quite small, but it means you can try a lot of different dishes. There is also a brilliant selection of drinks, the cocktails and the wine were both great. We went on a lovely day, looking out to the sunset over the sea and it was just perfect! I would definitely recommend booking as people were having to be turned away on a saturday evening. The staff were lovely and helpful but due to how busy it was we had to wait a bit here and there. It was beyond worth the wait though, it is absolutely worth a trip to Dory’s!

I ordered the mackerel, which was beautifully cooked and full of flavour. The only small suggestion I’d make is to consider adding a slightly more sour element to the pickle sides, just to balance out the saltiness of the fish a bit more. That extra zing could really elevate an already delicious dish! For dessert, the lemon posset was a dream—light, creamy, and perfectly tart. It was the ideal way to round off the meal. The staff were warm and attentive, and the whole atmosphere felt effortless and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back again soon—highly recommended for anyone who enjoys simple food done with care and skill.
This is one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! Visiting Margate for a work event, we booked a last minute table for 13 people. Despite the large number and the quick turnaround, the team accommodated us with no hesitation. Emma and Will were incredible, so attentive, fun and knowledgeable- recommending us lovely wines. We must have been at the restaurant for almost 3 hours, and they were just brilliant throughout. And the food. Oh my goodness...wow! We had the set course, with so many little dishes, each one even better than the last. The food was just impeccable- I love seafood but that was better than anything I’ve tasted before. The sort of food you can’t recreate at home. If you’re in Margate, you have to visit. No questions asked.
